Tif 419 thrives in full sun and exhibits excellent drought and heat resistance.
Tif 419 requires frequent mowing to manage its fast growth and prevent thatch buildup. It has strong disease and insect resistance and shows quick injury recovery. Tif 419 requires full sun, needing 8 hours of sunlight.
Bermuda Tif Tuf
Bermuda TifTuf is a robust hybrid Bermuda grass with superior drought tolerance and rapid recovery from wear, making it ideal for lawns and sports fields. TifTuf maintains its lush green color even under limited water conditions. It thrives in full sun, but does have moderate shade tolerance, needing 6 hours of sunlight. It has a fine texture and dense growth growth characteristics.
TifTuf requires requires frequent mowing to manage its fast growth and prevent thatch buildup. It is highly resistant to fungal disease, turf feeding insects, and has excellent wear tolerance and recovery.
Zoysia Sod Installation
Zeon Zoysia
Zeon Zoysia is a fine-bladed, lush grass known for its soft texture and dense growth. It boasts excellent shade tolerance, requiring only 4 hours of sunlight, and demonstrates strong wear tolerance. Zeon Zoysia has a moderate growth rate, reducing the need for frequent mowing, and has great resistance to fungal diseases, turf feeding insects, and weeds.
Zeon is resilient in drought conditions due to its deep root system, which enhances its ability to withstand extreme weather. Zeon Zoysia maintains a vibrant green color and luxurious appearance with minimal maintenance, making it an ideal choice for residential lawns.
Palisades Zoysia
Palisades Zoysia is a medium to coarse-textured grass and has a dense, dark green appearance. It offers excellent shade tolerance, requiring only 4 hours of sunlight, and has good wear tolerance. Its slow growth rate reduces the need for frequent mowing. It has strong resistance to fungal diseases, turf feeding insects, and weeds.
Palisades is drought-resistant due to its deep root system, which helps it withstand extreme weather conditions. Palisades Zoysia is well-suited for residential and commercial landscapes. Palisades Zoysia resembles St. Augustine grass in appearance and is an excellent replacement option.
Shade King Zoysia
Shade King Zoysia is a fine to medium-bladed grass that has excellent shade tolerance, requiring 2-3 hour of direct and filtered sunlight. Shade King is the most shade tolerant Zoysia cultivar we offer. It features a dense, dark green turf that is visually appealing and resistant to Shade King Zoysia has moderate wear tolerance.
It grows at a moderate rate, reducing the need for frequent mowing. Additionally, like all other Zoysia cultivars, it exhibits good resistance to common lawn diseases, turf feeding insects, and weeds.
St. Augustine Sod Installation
Raleigh St. Augustine
Raleigh St. Augustine is a popular grass variety known for its broad, dark green blades, dense growth, and shade tolerance, requiring only 4 hours of sunlight. It grows rapidly and spreads quickly, but is more sensitive to temperature extremes than other warm-season grasses.
Raleigh St. Augustine is susceptible to freezing temperatures, fungal diseases like gray leaf spot, take-all root rot, and brown patch, as well as insect damage from chinch bugs and grub worms. Regular maintenance, proper irrigation, fertilization, and proactive monitoring are essential to manage these vulnerabilities and maintain a healthy lawn.
Palmetto St. Augustine
Palmetto St. Augustine is a versatile grass known for its fine texture and dark green color, performing well in both sun and shade. It offers good drought tolerance and moderate cold tolerance compared to other St. Augustine varieties. With a slightly smaller leaf and denser growth than Raleigh St. Augustine, Palmetto forms a lush, attractive lawn.
Palmetto is prone to damage from hard freezes, fungal diseases, and turf-feeding insects. St. Augustine grasses generally lack wear tolerance, especially during winter dormancy, but Palmetto recovers quickly from injuries and spreads rapidly. Regular maintenance is essential to keep it healthy and resilient.
Fescue Seed Installation
Five Star Fescue
Five Star Fescue Grass Seed Blend includes five top-rated dwarf turf-type fescues: Crossfire 3, Rebound, Fayette, Night Crawler, and Rhizing Moon. This blend ensures deep-rooted turfgrass that maintains a dark green color and has high resistance to brown patch fungus, common in humid and hot areas. It is also drought-tolerant and performs well in shady areas with 2-4 hours of sunlight.
In North Texas, Fescue is not the ideal lawn choice but serves a purpose in densely shaded areas where warm-season grasses decline. Fescue must be overseeded every fall, as it usually burns out in the hottest late summer months when temperatures are above 95 degrees.
